Exploring the Shopping Cart Section
The Shopping Cart section is divided into two main areas: one for adding new licenses and another for renewing the S&M for existing licenses.
Adding New Licenses
To add new licenses, click the Add New button at the top of the page.
This action creates a new line in the shopping cart where you can configure the desired license.
Let’s break down the process:
Subscription Type: By default, the subscription type is set to "Perpetual." However, you can choose from additional options, such as 1-year or 3-month subscriptions, depending on your needs.
Support & Maintenance: The first year of support is included by default. You can extend this support by selecting 1, 3, or 5 additional years.
Quantity: Specify the number of licenses you want to purchase with the selected configuration.
Cost, Discount, and Total: These fields automatically calculate the cost of the licenses, apply any volume discounts, and display the total price. For example, if you purchase 10 or more licenses, the system applies a 10% discount automatically.
Once the configuration is complete, you have two options:
Generate Quote: Use this option to create a preliminary quotation for review. This is ideal if you need approval or additional confirmation before placing an order.
Place Order: Select this option to proceed directly with the purchase.
When you click Place Order, a pop-up window appears where you can enter additional details:
Order Number: Here, we recommend entering the purchase order (PO) number for easy tracking.
Description: Provide a clear description of the licenses being purchased, including the modules and any additional support selected.
Below these fields, you’ll see your billing address. After confirming the details, click Place Order to finalize the purchase. The newly acquired licenses will automatically appear in the Licenses section, ready to be assigned.
Now, let’s explore the Subscription and S&M Renewals section, which is where you’ll manage renewals for your existing licenses. As previously mentioned, licenses that you select for renewal in the Licenses section will appear here after adding them to the cart. Let’s take a closer look at how this process works with an example.
Adding Licenses to the Shopping Cart for Renewal
Navigate to the Licenses section.
Identify the licenses you wish to renew.
Click the shopping cart icon next to each license, or use the Renew S&M button at the top of the Licenses page after filtering by specific nodes.
Once these actions are completed, the selected licenses will automatically appear in the Shopping Cart, ready for renewal.
Managing Renewals in the Shopping Cart
Return to the Shopping Cart, and you’ll see the licenses you’ve added displayed in the Subscription and S&M Renewals section.
Here, you can:
Review License Information: Confirm the details of the licenses you’re renewing, including their current status and associated modules.
Select Renewal Period: Choose the duration of the renewal—1 year, 3 years, or 5 years—based on your requirements.
Once your selections are complete, you have two options:
Generate Quote: Use this option if you’d like to create a quotation for the renewal. This is useful if approval or review is required before finalizing the purchase.
Place Order: Select this option to immediately complete the renewal process.
